1. Licence to use Pixl8
Subject to these terms, CodeDreams BV grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use Pixl8 on Android devices you own or control, for personal, non-commercial use.
2. What you can and can't do
- Install Pixl8 on as many devices as your Google account allows.
- Play any PICO-8 cartridge files you legally have access to.
- Back up your own save data, screenshots and recorded scripts.
- Do not reverse-engineer, decompile, or repackage the application binary.
- Do not resell or sublicense the application.
- Do not misrepresent Pixl8 as an official Lexaloffle product.
3. In-app purchases
The "Pro Features" unlock is a one-time, non-consumable in-app purchase processed by Google Play Billing. The purchase entitles you to use the Pro-gated features (save states, debugger, script recorder, and any future feature explicitly marked as included) on any device signed into the same Google Play account.
Refunds are handled by Google Play under Google's refund policy. We don't process payments directly and have no separate refund mechanism.
4. Cart files and user content
You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to use any PICO-8 cartridges, save data, scripts, or other files you open with Pixl8. Carts published on the Lexaloffle BBS each have their own licence; most are explicitly free to play but check the cart's BBS page if you intend to redistribute.
5. Trademarks
PICO-8® and Lexaloffle® are trademarks of Lexaloffle Games LLP. Pixl8 is an independent third-party application that plays cartridges published in the PICO-8 format; CodeDreams BV and Pixl8 are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Lexaloffle.
6. Disclaimer of warranty
Pixl8 is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We make no warranty that every PICO-8 cart will run correctly or that the application will be free from errors or interruptions.
7. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, CodeDreams BV shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for loss of data, arising out of or in connection with your use of Pixl8. Where applicable law does not permit such limitations, our liability is limited to the amount you paid for the Pro unlock (if any) in the twelve months preceding the claim.
8. Changes
We may update these terms when the application's behaviour or commercial structure changes. Material changes will be reflected in the Google Play release notes for the version that introduces them.
9. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Belgium, without regard to its conflict-of-law provisions. Any dispute that cannot be resolved amicably shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Brussels, Belgium.
